What happens when a track has both music and speech, like a DJ set?

In a DJ set where the DJ talks between tracks or over intros, you'll get the spoken commentary with timestamps but not an attempt to transcribe lyrics or instrumental sections. The accuracy depends on how clearly the speech is separated from the music — a DJ talking over a quiet intro transcribes well; someone talking over a loud drop will be harder to capture.

Does audio quality affect transcription accuracy?

Yes. SoundCloud streams at different bitrates — 128kbps for free uploads and up to 320kbps for premium content. Higher-quality uploads produce more accurate transcripts. Audio that has been re-uploaded multiple times or originally recorded at low quality will have lower accuracy. Studio-quality podcast recordings hosted on SoundCloud will transcribe very well.

Can I transcribe an entire SoundCloud playlist or album?

Not in one operation. Vocova processes one track at a time. For a playlist, you'll need to transcribe each track individually by pasting its URL. Each transcript is saved separately in your account.

Does it work with SoundCloud Go+ exclusive tracks?

Only if the track has a publicly accessible URL. Tracks that require a Go+ subscription to play cannot be accessed by our system. For restricted tracks, upload a local audio file only if you own it, have permission to process it, or received it through an authorized platform export.

Can it transcribe a purely instrumental music track?

No. Vocova is a speech transcription tool. A purely instrumental track with no spoken words will produce an empty or near-empty transcript. The tool is designed for podcasts, interviews, spoken word, and other speech-based content.
